Course Impact

This was another course that focused on leadership skills. The difference with this course was that my main takeaway was not that I had to apply these skills in a business setting. Obviously, they are good skills to use professionally as well, but being a leader is not limited to this environment. We discussed many ways good, competent leaders influence their followers positively. Further, we also discussed what it meant to be a good follower – because not everyone is always going to be a leader or manager. This struck a chord with me as I have almost always been in a follower-type role in professional settings. Learning that this role is just as important to support the leader, empowered me.
